Frequently Asked Questions
What is CO2RE (CORE) Fractional CO2 Skin Resurfacing?
CO2RE (CORE) Fractional CO2 Skin Resurfacing is a fractional laser system that enables our medical professionals to effectively treat the skin’s surface, middle, and deep dermal levels with exact precision. CO2RE differs from traditional ablative resurfacing methods in that it is lighter, faster, and requires less downtime. CO2RE appeals to our guests since it works for all skin types.
With CO2RE laser skin resurfacing treatment, guests experience improvement in:
- Skin tone and texture
- Sun-damaged skin
- Age spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Facial scars
How does it work?
The CO2RE transformative fractional laser technology meticulously targets multiple layers of your skin simultaneously, leaving you with a fresh complexion. Fractional laser resurfacing uses dual laser beams to reach both topical and deeper layers of your skin by employing a “fraction by fraction” method, removing certain areas of skin while stimulating collagen formation and healthy new skin cells. The CO2RE laser has multiple modes dedicated to treating a variety of skin types.
How do I know if CO2RE treatments are right for me?
We recommend this treatment for guests in their late 30s to 70s who have experienced significant skin damage caused by sunlight, aging, discoloration, and other skin irregularities. CO2RE is ideal for anyone seeking even-toned and younger-looking skin with a shorter recovery period.
How many treatments do I need?
Although results will vary from guest to guest, improvement in your skin may be visible after only 1 treatment. After several days, you will notice immediate changes in your treatment areas, especially a reduction in age spots and uneven texture. Be sure to follow any instructions given to you by your Nurse Practitioner to maintain your smooth and radiant complexion. We recommend following a healthy skin-care regimen, applying sunscreen, and avoiding sunlight for weeks to months following the treatment.
Does the treatment hurt?
Although discomfort varies from guest to guest, we will apply an anesthetic prior to treatment to ease any potential pain. Our team of medical professionals will be at your side, monitoring your comfort level throughout the treatment. If for some reason you feel additional pain, you may take a subcutaneous anesthetic, oral pain reliever, or sedative.
Are there side effects?
After your treatment, you may feel a burning sensation that will last a few hours. In the next 7 to 14 days, you will notice that your skin will begin to flake and peel. Do not panic, as this is a natural reaction following the treatment. You may also experience dryness, minor bleeding, and redness crusting (depending on the depth of your treatment). It is important to keep your skin moist during this time. We recommend waiting at least 7 days following the treatment to begin applying make-up. For optimal recovery (and to avoid any infections), it is very important to follow our aftercare instructions included in your post-procedure kit.
Will I notice the difference right away?
During your consultation, we will examine your skin and share the type of results you should expect after 1 treatment. Generally, guests notice immediate improvement after only 1 visit. Your skin will continue to improve 3 to 6 months following the treatment.
Is it safe?
CO2RE is generally safe, however, we recommend sharing your complete medical and skin history with us before treatment to ensure a safe experience and avoid any potential infections or reactions.
Where can I receive my treatment?
You can receive CO2RE through a procedure at our locations in Visalia or Fresno.
