Body Contouring

The CoolTone™ device is indicated for improvement of abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles, and development for firmer abdomen. CoolTone™ is also indicated for strengthening, toning, and firming of buttocks and thighs.

How does CoolTone work?

The CoolTone applicator generates a magnetic field that creates a current when it passes through a conductive material. Muscles are good conductors of magnetic fields, unlike skin and fat, which are poor conductors. The induced current is stronger in the muscle layer and the body responds to these contractions by strengthening its muscle fibers and improving muscle conditioning. The result is stronger, firmer, and more toned abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good candidate for CoolTone?

CoolTone is a compliment to CoolSculpting, a method of non-surgical fat reduction. The ideal candidate for CoolTone is somebody who either has very little fat in the abdomen perhaps a pinch, maybe somebody who’s had prior liposuction or CoolSculpting in that area, and now they want to see their muscles toned and refined.

How long is the treatment? How many sessions do I need?

Clinical studies show the best results with a total of 4 treatments for the abdomen and buttocks treated for 30 minutes, twice a week for 2 weeks. To maintain initial results, we recommend one treatment every 3-6 months.

What is magnetic muscle stimulation?

CoolTone uses Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) to selectively deliver strong pulses to muscle tissues in a noninvasive manner. CoolTone’s MMS technology penetrates into the muscle layers and induces involuntary muscle contractions, all in a safe and effective treatment.

How does a muscle contract?

Your brain is the natural way to trigger a muscle contraction. But an external stimulation, like CoolTone’s MMS technology, can bypass the natural order, recruiting more muscle fibers and generating stronger contractions.

What to expect during and after my treatment? When can I see results?

During your CoolTone treatment you will feel a series of strong muscle contractions. Thinner patients may feel CoolTone treatments more and a decrease in energy. Many patients tend to instinctively smile or laugh during the first few minutes, then the body adapts to the rhythm of muscle contractions and it’s easily tolerated.

After your CoolTone session the area of treatment may be mildly sore, like a strength-training workout. This may persist for a day following treatment.

In the clinical studies, the estimated 16% increase in muscle mass and reduction of fat were measured 2 months after the 4th treatment. However, some patients noticed increased muscle tone of the abs one day following treatment.

How much muscle mass will I tone with a series of CoolTone?

In clinical studies, patients gained 16% muscle mass after a series of 4 treatments with CoolTone.

Does CoolTone help diastasis recti?

Yes, clinical studies demonstrate an 11% reduction in diastasis recti following 4 treatments with CoolTone. Diastasis recti is a medical term describing the separation of the abdominal muscles. In extreme cases, it can cause a midline hernia (ventral hernia) or bulging of abdominal tissues. This most commonly occurs during pregnancy, as the belly increases in size to accommodate a growing baby. The increasing size of the womb stretches the abdominal muscles, leading to diastasis recti. CoolTone offers non-invasive means of improving diastasis recti.

Is CoolTone safe? What are the side effects?

Yes, focused magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS) from CoolTone is considered to be safe. As mentioned previously, mild soreness similar to a muscle workout is normal and expected as a side effect from CoolTone treatments.

Are my results permanent?

Muscle mass is not permanent, but likely lasts 6 months or longer. Periodic CoolTone treatments can maintain the muscle tone achieved from an initial series of CoolTone treatments.
