Pre-treatment: Approximately 3 days before treatment avoid tropical products such as Tretinoin, Retin-A, Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or other “anti-aging” products. One week before (to prevent bruising) exclude: Aspiring, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Garlic, Flax oil, Omega-3 capsules (fish oil), herbal supplements, green tea, dietary supplements, vitamin A, vitamin E, antibiotics and any other essential fatty acids. Schedule chemical peels and Laser treatments at least 2 weeks prior to you dermal filler appointment.
Post-treatment: Immediately after your procedure and for 24 hours you should avoid the following:
-Strenuous exercise
-Sun exposure/heat exposure/tanning beds
-Alcoholic beverages
-Massaging or applying pressure to areas where treated
How long is my appointment?
Approximately 30-60 minutes long. Timeline is determined by the type of filler you are receiving.
Do I numb for my appointment?
If you request to numb for your appointment please inform provider in injecting room. Your nurse will provide topical numbing cream in treated area.
Two different types of filler:
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Calcium-based (CB)
When should I book my appointment if I have a big event coming up?
If you have an important event scheduled in the near future schedule your filler appointment 2-3 weeks in advance. This will allow for swelling and bruising to have optimal time to heal.
What do you recommend to reduce bruising?
Arnica. Arnica is a supplement to relieve symptoms of swelling and discoloration from bruising. It should be taken prior to and immediately after the treatment and continued as directed on the bottle.
